A tour between art, food and wine along the Via Emilia. Founded in 187 B.C. by Roman consul Marco Emilio Lepido, the Via Emilia is not a simple road, but a true symbol, an historical, cultural and economic map that marked the area for millennia and along which the landscape built Emilia Romagna’s identity.

ItinerarY

First day: Piacenza

Arrival in Piacenza, transfer and check-in to a 4-star hotel. We are going to meet the guide and visit the city’s most popular sights: Palazzo Farnese, Piazza dei Cavalli, the Palazzo Pubblico and the Cattedrale, the Basilica di Sant’Antonio and the Teatro Municipale. Lunch (not included in the offer). In the afternoon, we are going to visit the Castello di San Pietro in Cerro. We are going back to Piacenza, have dinner at the restaurant and have an overnight stay.

Second day: Piacenza – Parma

After breakfast, we are going to relocate to Parma and visit the city. We begin by visiting Palazzo Ducale, its Garden and the Palazzo della Pilotta. Lunch (not included in the offer). In the afternoon, we are going to visit the Duomo and walk down the streets surrounding Piazza Garibaldi, where there are the City Hall and the Governor’s Palace. We are going to visit the interior of the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Steccata. Then check-in to a 4-star hotel in Parma. Dinner with local food products, return to the hotel and overnight stay.

Third day: Parma – Reggio Emilia – Modena

After breakfast, we are going to relocate to Reggio Emilia and visit its old town. We begin with Piazza Grande, today known as Piazza Prampolini, and visit the Duomo, the Battistero and the City hall. Then, we visit the Basilica della Ghiara, the Basilica di San Prospero and we reach the Piazza dei Teatri. We are going to visit a cheese factory for a cheese tasting of local Parmesan Cheese. Then, we are going to relocate to Modena. We are going to visit the most important sights in the old town such as Piazza Grande, the Duomo, and the torre Ghirlandina, all listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Later, we are going to visit the Galleria Estense. Check-in to a 4-star hotel in Modena. Dinner at the restaurant, return to the hotel and overnight stay.

Fourth day: Modena – Bologna

After breakfast, we are going to relocate to Bologna and spend the entire day visiting the city. We are going to begin from Piazza Malpighi, where the apse of the Chiesa di San Francesco stands, beside the 13th century tombe dei Glossatori. We head towards Piazza Maggiore, in the heart of the city, where we are going to visit the interior of the Basilica di San Petronio. We are going to visit the exterior of Palazzo d’Accursio, Palazzo dei Banchi, Palazzo del Podestà and Palazzo dei Notai. We continue until Piazza Nettuno, and visit the famous Fountain and the Palazzo Re Enzo. We are going to stop for lunch near Mercato di Mezzo, a market of medieval origin. Early in the afternoon we are going to reach the Due Torri (Two Towers) and we continue up to the Basilica di Santo Stefano. Lastly, we are going to visit the Chiesa di San Domenico and the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Vita. Check-in to a 4-star hotel in Bologna. Dinner at the restaurant, return to the hotel and overnight stay.

Fifth day: Bologna – Forlì – Cesena

After breakfast, we are going to relocate to Forlì and visit the old town. We begin with Piazza Saffi and the palaces surrounding it such as the Residenza comunale, the Abbazia di San Mercuriale, the Palazzo delle Poste, the Palazzo del Podestà, and the Palazzo Serughi. At the end of the visits, we are going to have lunch in a local inn. In the afternoon, we are going to stroll through the Cesena city centre and visit Piazza del Popolo with its fountain, the Palazzo Municipale and the Cattedrale di San Giovanni Battista. From the cathedral we get to the Parco della Rimembranza and the Rocca Malatestiana. Check-in to a 4-star hotel in Cesena. Dinner at the restaurant, return to hotel and overnight stay.

Sixth day: Cesena – Rimini 

After brekfast we are going to relocate to Rimini. We are going to have a city tour and visit the most important sights: the Ponte di Tiberio, Piazza Cavour, and the Vecchia Pescheria, the Arco di Augusto, Piazza Ferrari, the Domus del Chirurgo, the old Foro of Piazza Tre Martiri, the Amphiteatre, the Torre dell’Orologio and the Chiesa di S. Francesco di Paola. At the end of the visits, we are going to have lunch in a local inn. At the end of the visits, we are going back to the place of arrival and that is the end of our services. Possible additions or integrations may be added to the main program based on the client’s preferences.
