Langhe, Roeto, and Monferrato hills are bursting with colours, flavours and emotions. They are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

ItinerarY

First day: Grinzane Cavour – Fontanafredda Estate – Alba

We are going to arrive in Grinzane Cavour, meet the guide and visit the Castle that houses the first Regional Wine Shop of Piedmont and the Museo Etnografico delle Langhe. At the end of the visit, we are going to reach the nearby Fontanafredda Estate, located in the heart of the best regions to produce Barolo wine. Guided tour to the historical wine cellars and wine tasting of three wines. At the end of the visits, we are going to relocate to a 4-star hotel in Alba. Dinner in a historic restaurant located in the city centre. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.

Second day: Asti – Neive

After breakfast, we are going to relocate to Asti, considered one of Monferrato capitals. Monferrato is a part of Piedmont known for its wine production. We are going to visit some of the city’s most important landmarks such as the Gothic Cathedral, the Collegiata di S. Secondo, the Jewish Quarter, Piazza and Corso Vittorio Alfieri. Lunch with local food products. After lunch, we are going to relocate to Neive, town listed as one of “the most beautiful towns in Italy”. At the end of the visit, we are going to visit a torrone confectionery company for a tasting of the company’s products. Return to the hotel in Alba, dinner (not included in the offer) and overnight stay.

Third day: La Morra – Barolo – Alba

After breakfast, we are going to relocate to La Morra, known as Langhe Balcony (Il Balcone delle Langhe in Italian). We are going to reach the original Cappella Brunate della Madonna delle Grazie by walking slightly downhill among Barolo vineyards. Then, we are going to relocate to Barolo and visit it. The town is located on a hilly ridge around Falletti Castle. At the end of the morning, we are going to have lunch at the restaurant with a local menu. In the afternoon, we are going to have a guided tour of Alba. At the end of the visit, we are going back to the hotel, have dinner (not included in the offer) and have an overnight stay.

Fourth day: Pollenzo – Cherasco – Verduno

After breakfast, we are going to relocate and have a guided tour of Pollenzo Royal Estate, where a 14th century castle is located. The castle was rebuilt in the 19th century at the behest of Carlo Alberto di Savoia and recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards, we are going to visit Cherasco, the Castello Visconteo and some of the finest examples of Piedmontese Baroque such as the Santuario della Madonna del Popolo. Then we are going to relocate to Verduno for a guided tour of the historical Castello di Verduno wine cellars. This is followed by a wine tasting in combination with lunch. At the end of the lunch, we are going to the place of arrival and that is the end of our services. Possible additions or integrations may be added to the main program based on the client’s preferences.

RECOMMENDED PERIOD

Fall (October – November)

Fall is the best time for foliage lovers, when the leaves change color and valleys turn red offering a unique spectacle of colours and lights. In this period, walking among UNESCO-listed hills and vineyards, will be even more impressive. Also, every year, the White Truffle International Fair is held in October and November in Alba and includes a calendar full of events dedicated to the prestigious truffle.
