Veneto is one of Italy’s regions with the highest concentration of UNESCO World Heritage Site. During this tour we are going to visit the following UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Venice and its lagoon, the Botanic Garden in Padua, the Serial World Heritage Padova Urbs Picta, the city of Verona, Vicenza and the Palladian Villas, the hills of the Prosecco (Italian sparkling wine) from Conegliano Valdobbiadene.

Itinerary

First day: Venice

Participants meet up.  We are then going to have a guided tour of some of the city’s most famous landmarks: St. Mark’s Basilica and the Piazza bearing the same name, St Mark’s Campanile, the Doge’s Palace, the Bridge of Sighs. Free time will be allotted for lunch in a bacaro, a typical Venetian bar. In the afternoon we are going to see other famous sites in the city such as Rialto Bridge, the Grand Canal, and some of the city’s well-known churches including Chiesa dei Frari. Then we are going up on a rooftop terrace called Fondaco dei Tedeschi. We are going back to the hotel in the evening, have dinner at the restaurant and stay overnight.

Second day: Venice – cruise around the islands

After breakfast, we are going to board a private vessel and start cruising in the Venetian lagoon. We are going to get to San Servolo island and visit the park. Then we are going to reach and visit the island of San Lazzaro degli Armeni. At the end of the visit we are going to leave for Torcello and have a fish-based lunch. After lunch we are going to leave for the island of Burano. Then, we are going to visit San Francesco del Deserto. Then, we are going back to Venice. Dinner (not included in the offer) and overnight stay at the hotel.

Third day: Padua

After breakfast, we are going to relocate to Padua. We are going to stroll through Prato della Valle (one of Europe’s biggest squares) and visit the city’s first Unesco World Heritage Site, the Botanic Garden. This is followed by a visit inside the Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua followed up by a visit to St. George Orathory (Oratorio di San Giorgio in Italian). We then go to the squares where some time is allotted for lunch. Early in the afternoon we are going to visit Scrovegni Chapel. This is followed by a visit to the Church of the Eremitani (Chiesa degli Eremitani in Italian). In the evening we are going to check-in in a 3 or 4-star hotel located in Padua. Dinner at the restaurant. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.

Fourth day: Padua – Verona

After breakfast, we are going to visit Palazzo della Ragione (Piazza delle Erbe), Padua Baptistery (Piazza Duomo) and the Cappella della Reggia Carrarese. We are going to take a coffee break at the Pedrocchi Café (Caffè Pedrocchi in Italian), a café founded in the 18th century and one of the city’s landmarks. Lunch (not included in the offer). The tour in Padua ends with San Michele Oratory (UNESCO World Heritage Site). At the end of the visit, we are going to relocate to Verona. We are going to check-in at a 3 or 4-star hotel in Verona. Dinner at the restaurant and overnight stay.

Fifth day: Verona

After breakfast, we are going to have a guided tour of the Verona’s old town. The city that was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We are going to begin with Castelvecchio, we continue onto Corso Cavour until we get to the Chiesa di San Lorenzo and then the Duomo. We are going to continue with the Chiesa di Sant’Anastasia and Via Sottorina. We are going to arrive in Piazza dei Signori, and visit the Palazzo del Capitano, the Palazzo della Ragione and the Arche Scaligere, and then we are going to Piazza delle Erbe, where there are several medieval buildings. We head towards the Casa di Giulietta and we are going to end our visits in Piazza Brà, and visit the Verona Arena and the Palazzo della Gran Guardia. In the evening we are going back to the hotel, have dinner at the restaurant and overnight stay.

Sixth day: Verona – Vicenza

After breakfast, we are going to have a guided tour of the Basilica di San Zeno Maggiore. We are going to relocate and visit some Palladian Villas, located near Vicenza. Lunch at the restaurant. We are going to relocate to Vicenza and have a guided tour of the city centre: we are going to start from Piazza dei Signori, and visit the Basilica Palladiana and the Palazzo del Capitaniato; we head towards the Teatro Olimpico (Olimpic Theatre), and cross Corso Palladio where you can see a long line of palaces and churces. In the evening, we are going to check-in in a or 4-star hotel in Vicenza. Dinner (not included in the offer) and overnight stay.

Seventh day: Vicenza – Vedelago – Valdobbiadene

After breakfast, we are going to visit Villa Emo a Fanzolo di Vedelago (UNESCO World Heritage Site). At the end we are going to relocate to Valdobbiadene. We are going to have lunch in a local restaurant with a typical seasonal menu. The afternoon will be devoted to visiting some suggestive places and towns in the Strada del Prosecco, among the hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene (UNESCO World Heritage Site) with stops in some wine cellar. At the end of the visits we are going back to the place of destination and end of services. Possible additions or integrations may be added to the main program based on the client’s preferences.
